Back to Work, First Day of Daycare

Today was my first day back to work. I dropped Jax off at his first day at daycare this morning and it went pretty easy. Just got him out and handed him over and kissed him. Got a little teary when I was leaving but I just kept thinking to myself that I wasn't wearing waterproof mascara today. I would definitely rather stay home with him everyday but I am glad that he will make lots of friends there. There was another baby, Delton, that was having his first day too. He and Jaxon are 9 days apart. Maybe they will be best buds.

Donnie was able to pick him up by 3 and they provide a sheet that tells when they ate, slept, pooped through out the day.

My kid is a poop monster. Here is what his sheet said:
8:50- BM
9:30- BM
10:05- BM- Changed clothes, blowout
11:50- BM- Small
12:25- BM
1:25- BM

WOW. I change a lot of diapers when he's home but to have poop in EVERY diaper?? My guess is that he had a tummy ache because he missed his mommy. That has to be it.

They have video cameras in the rooms and I can log on during the day to see him. That is very nice so I can just peek in on him whenever I need a Jax fix. Funniest thing is today I was watching for him on the camera and then the door opened and Donnie walked in!! I didn't know that he was off work yet and it was soo funny. I texted him and I watched him check his phone and text me back. And they were just starting to feed Jax, so Donnie was just hanging out while they finished and I felt like a Peeping Tom just sitting there watching everyone on the camera. I wish it had audio because I had so many questions for him while I was spying so I kept texting him questions like why are you just standing there?? Can't you just take him? Why did they sit down to feed him when you are standing there?? Are they talking to you? Ask them if I sent enough bottles. Couldn't you just leave with him?? I was kind of getting mad that they went and fed him and made Donnie just stand there. I thought, if that was me I would have just took my child. That is why you need audio...

Donnie said he got there and they said they just warmed his bottle and did he want them to feed him quick and he said sure, so he was just waiting for that. They did talk to him a bit and yes, he was very wierded out that I was stalking him on the camera.
Funniest part was my work peeps were all standing around me watching him on the camera too. It made for some great comic relief.

Best part of the day was that after Donnie picked up Jax he brought him to work so I could smooch on him and they brought me an 'I love you' plant for my cube! How great!

You are stalking your son and husband for sure. The daycare might have to get a restraining order on you when all is said and done!
I am so happy you have this blog. Jax is absolutely adorable. I can already tell you are a great mom!

My heart hurts for you. I still remember exactly how I felt all those years ago. I also remember how as you got older you cried because you had to go home and wanted to stay with the "kids." And as for stalking, I think that after what you pay for child care you can stalk all you want!
