Not until I was a mom did I ever think that poop would be a huge part of my life. I mean, we all do it but for as long as I can remember it's gone nicely into the potty and flushed bye bye down the drain never have to touch it or figure out what to do with it and I can't remember one instance where it's gotten on my clothes.
Then I had a baby. I feel like he poops a million times a day and it's never a nice neat little poop. It's always messy and more times than not there is a lot of it. And it never fails, he always poops right before we are about to leave the house.
On Friday, I wanted to be to work early so I had gotten up and gotten us ready earlier than usual. Donnie had already left for work and I was feeding Jax before we left for daycare. As usual, he poops while I am feeding him. He was laying on the Boppy pillow and I wanted to finish feeding him before changing him so we could just leave right after. I lifted him up after I finished to burb him and his back was soaked. For a brief second I thought, "How did you spit up and get it all the way on your back?" Then it hit me. It wasn't spit up. It was poop. I looked at the pillow, amazed that there wasn't poop all over it still not believing I felt it that far up his back. So we went to his room to change him. I had no clue what to do. I just held him with my arms straight out for a minute thinking about the best way to approach this. I decided the put him on his belly on the changing table so the poop wouldn't get all over. Then I took his pants off and surprisingly there was no poop on them. Then I unsnapped his onesie and pulled it up to find the motherload. The poop of all poops. It was all the way to his neck and there was so much of it. I didn't know how to get his onesie off without getting poop all over his head. I took a couple wipes and tried to wipe some off but there was just so much of it that I couldn't gain control. So I took Jax's arms out of his sleeves, all the time he is being very content, not knowing what a basket case his mom is right now. I decided to stretch the neck of his shirt and slide it down over his body so the poop at least wouldn't get on his head. Finally got the onesie off and decided there was no way to wipe all this up and a bath was the only way to go. Got his bath water started and his diaper off and sat him in the tub and rinsed all the poo off before sitting him in his bath chair. Whew. Success. Minimal sweating on my part. It wasn't even one of those blow outs where it feels like he missed the diaper and it just escaped out the back. He had the fullest diaper I had ever seen. I was so proud of myself that I only freaked out a little. I'm so glad that we had gotten up early otherwise I would have been really late to work. No one told me about these things before having a baby and if they had I probably wouldn't have believed them. Oh, the joys of motherhood!

Great poop story!!!!!!! Oh I wish I could have been there, like just watching, I wouldn't want to touch the poop or anything....But I would snuggle that little buddy after he was all cleaned up! Keep telling stories! I love it!! And I love you!
OMG Lisa, I laughed out loud throughout your WHOLE story!! I read it again to Nic and could hardly get through it. It all came rushing back to me so clearly... but it's so funny how fast you forget! Good luck with the poops to come... don't worry they get easier :)
AND we LOVED the laughing... cutie pie Jax!!!
LOVE YOU! Jen
