In April, Donnie put up Jax and Quentin's brand new swing set!! It was their Nana and Papa's Christmas present to them and once we had some nice weather and picked out the perfect one a semi truck delivered it to our house in 4 large boxes with the slide! Then Donnie and I unpacked all of it, did inventory and organized all the pieces. It took up two stalls in our garage. A lot of work a head of us...
Here is what our backyard looked like pre-swingset. Big and bare.
Day 1 of Mission: Swingset
I was sooo grateful that Mom & Daryl came up. Donnie and I don't always see eye to eye when we work on projects together... It was nice to have Daryl there to help him out. It decided to be a cool and rainy weekend so they started the project indoors and then moved outside when they couldn't do anymore in the garage.
Andy is in better shape than I am so she got volunteered to help move the base outide.
What a tough decision to decide where to put it!
Step by step, slowly but surely it started to come together.
Exhausting end to Day 1.
Day 2 of Mission: Swingset was much drier. Daryl helped in the morning and then after they left Donnie was a one man show for the rest of the day. He did such a great job.
By the end of Day 2 the playhouse was done and all that needed to be put up was the slide, monkey bars and the swings!
Day 3 was a nice day finally- too bad the whole weekend wasn't this good of weather. It seemed like all was left was the finishing touches but it felt like it was taking forever! Especially since Jax was so excited to play on it.
FINALLY DONE!!! Jax still has sooo much fun on it as both of the boys will well into their teenage years. Donnie was such a hard worker and did the best job ever!
